Funding
How much can I apply for? ▼
Grant amounts vary by funding type. Project grants typically range from $10,000-$100,000, capacity building grants from $15,000-$50,000, and operating support from $20,000-$75,000. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
How often can we apply for funding? ▼
We accept applications on a rolling basis, but we recommend waiting at least 12 months between submissions to allow time for implementation and impact measurement on previous grants.
Do you fund individual projects or ongoing operations? ▼
We fund both! We offer project-specific grants, capacity building support, and general operating grants. Each has different requirements and timelines.
What if we've never received grant funding before? ▼
New grantees are welcome! We have programs designed to support emerging organizations. Our team can provide guidance on grant writing and organizational development.
Eligibility & Requirements
Must we be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit? ▼
Yes, we primarily fund 501(c)(3) nonprofits. In some cases, we may work with other types of organizations—please contact us to discuss your situation.
Can international organizations apply? ▼
We currently focus on domestic funding within the United States, though we may consider international partnerships with U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations.
What if we're a faith-based organization? ▼
Faith-based organizations are welcome to apply as long as the grant funds support programs serving the broader community and not religious doctrine or practice.
Do you fund direct service organizations? ▼
Yes, we fund a wide range of organizations including direct service providers, advocacy groups, research organizations, and capacity-building providers.
Application & Process
How long does the review process take? ▼
The full process typically takes 8-10 weeks from application submission to funding decision. See our "How to Apply" page for detailed timeline.
Can I submit an application before the deadline? ▼
Absolutely! We review applications on a rolling basis. Early submission may allow us to provide feedback before final decisions.
What if my application doesn't get funded? ▼
We provide feedback on declined applications. We encourage organizations to address recommendations and reapply in the next funding cycle.
Can someone from your team help me with my application? ▼
Yes! Contact us to schedule a consultation. Our program officers can provide guidance on strengthening your application.
Partnerships
What types of partnerships do you offer? ▼
We work with foundations, corporations, faith communities, and individual donors. Partnership structure depends on your goals and capacity.
Do partnerships require a minimum commitment? ▼
Partnership structures vary. We work with partners to establish mutually beneficial terms that reflect both parties' capacity and goals.
How can corporations get involved? ▼
Corporations can partner through corporate giving programs, cause sponsorships, employee giving campaigns, or social impact initiatives. Contact our partnership team.
Can individual donors work directly with your foundation? ▼
Yes. We work with individual donors through donor-advised funds, directed giving, planned giving, and custom philanthropic strategies.
Grant Administration
What are the reporting requirements? ▼
Grant recipients submit mid-year and final reports documenting progress toward goals, outcomes achieved, and use of funds. Reporting requirements are detailed in the grant agreement.
Can funds be used differently than proposed? ▼
No, funds must be used as proposed in your grant application. If circumstances change, contact your program officer to discuss potential modifications.
What happens if we can't spend the grant within the timeframe? ▼
Contact us immediately. We can sometimes adjust timelines or grant terms, but continuing funds must be returned and reported to funding sources.
Can we extend our grant or request additional funding? ▼
Extensions and additional funding are possible. Contact your program officer to discuss your situation. Demonstrated impact increases likelihood of continued support.
